New Tanzania Arrival & Departure Information

Tanzania has implemented enhanced COVID-19 screening for all visitors. A summary of these measures can be found below. Please contact us directly for any questions you might have about travelling to Tanzania and elsewhere in Africa for your safari.

Pre-departure.

You must have a negative  PCR test in order to travel. Tanzania requires the test to be taken within 72 hours of arrival. Have the test result to hand on your phone and in print while you travel.

On Arrival.

All passengers are subject to enhanced screening for COVID-19. These measures include an online health form, temperature checks and rapid Antigen tests.

The traveller health surveillance form can be found here and must be filled out within 24hrs of arrival. This may mean completing the form while waiting for a connecting flight for longer haul travellers. Each traveller will receive a unique health code to be presented on arrival.

Rapid tests take approximately 20 minutes for results, cost $25 each and must be paid for in cash.

Kusini Safaris can organise airport assists to walk through these measures, passport control and baggage collection if required.

Guests are reminded to get their visas online prior to leaving to save time on arrival.

On Departure.

Before you leave Tanzania you must have a negative PCR test for onward travel. PCR testing is available in Arusha, Serengeti, Dar es Salaam and Zanzibar. We will advise on where is best to test for your itinerary. We recommend testing between 48 and 72 hours before departure time to allow time for results and to meet requirements for destination countries. In most cases guests will require an extra two nights to wait for test results. Kusini Safaris can facilitate the accommodation, transfers and PCR tests as required.

All passengers will be subject to a rapid Antigen test prior to boarding for departure. $25 each payable in cash.
